IT support in
Waterloo, Ontario.
We plan, build, and run the technology organizations across Waterloo Region depend on — the networks, the servers, the Microsoft 365 tenancy, the backups nobody thinks about until the morning they matter.
What "support" means here
Most technology problems we're called about are not really incidents. They're the accumulated result of decisions nobody documented: a server nobody wants to touch, a network that grew one switch at a time, a backup that has never been restored from. Answering tickets faster does not fix any of that.
So the work runs in two halves. The first is making the environment sound — knowing what you have, why it's there, and what happens when it fails. The second is keeping it that way: patching, monitoring, access reviews, and a quarterly conversation about what changed and what's coming. Day-to-day requests get handled, but they stop being the whole relationship.
What we cover
- Networks and infrastructure — servers, switching, Wi‑Fi that works across a plant or a converted heritage building, cameras, and remote access
- Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace — tenancy design, migrations, licensing you're not overpaying for, and permissions that actually reflect who should see what
- Backup and recovery — tested restores, not green checkmarks on a dashboard
- Security — hardening, MFA rollout, phishing defence, access reviews when people leave, and incident response if the worst happens
- Line-of-business systems — the ERP, case management, or practice software the organization actually runs on, and getting it to talk to everything else
- Vendor management — we deal with the telco, the software vendor, and the hardware reseller, and hold them to dates
- Fractional IT leadership — the CIO conversation on a monthly cadence, without adding it to your payroll
Waterloo Region specifically
Being local matters less than it used to, and more than vendors admit. Most work is faster remotely. But a plant floor rebuild, a cutover weekend, a cabling problem, or a room of staff who need shown in person are all on-site jobs, and we cover Waterloo, Kitchener, Cambridge, and Guelph for those without a travel surcharge or a three-day wait.
It also means the same jurisdiction. Canadian data residency, PIPEDA rather than guesswork about which US state law applies, and provincial funder requirements we've met before.
Not sure what you need yet?
That's the normal starting point. Tell us what isn't working and we'll tell you what we'd look at first — six questions, about a minute, and no phone number required.

Do you come on site, or is everything remote?
Both. Anything involving hardware, cabling, a plant floor, or a room full of people who need showing gets done in person across Waterloo Region. Everything else is faster remotely, and we don't pad invoices with unnecessary visits.
How is this different from a managed service provider?
Most MSPs sell a ticket queue: you report a problem, someone junior triages it, and nobody owns the underlying cause. We plan the environment, build the fixes ourselves, and stay responsible for the result. The person who scoped your work is the person who does it.
What does it cost?
Project work is fixed scope, with a number agreed before we start. Ongoing care is a flat monthly fee based on what you actually run — quoted after a two-week review rather than guessed from a headcount.
Is our data kept in Canada?
By default, yes. We use Canadian-region hosting where the platform offers it, and document every system your information touches so PIPEDA obligations are answerable rather than assumed.
We already have an IT person. Is that a problem?
No — it's common, and it works well. An internal person who knows the business handles the day to day while we cover architecture, projects, and the specialist work nobody can be expected to do alone.
